Nashville 2-2 Portland: Timbers battle for a hard-earned point in Nashville

On Monday, Nashville and Portland were held to a 2-2 draw at Nissan Stadium. Following today’s result, Nashville and Portland currently occupy 4th and 9th spots in the table, with 27 points and 23 points respectively after 25 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Nashville, when Davis gave Nashville the lead at the 18 minute mark, ending the first half 1-0.

Nashville took the lead in the second half, when Mukhtar found the net, 57 minutes in. However, The Timbers weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Asprilla at the 64 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Niezgoda made it 2-2 at the 69 minute mark to make it 2-2.

Substitutions for Nashville included Aké Loba, Maher, Tah Anunga and Bunbury for Sapong, Haakenson, Mccarty and Leal, repectively. Portland brought on Williamson, Loria, Mora, Župarić and Fochive, to replace Chará, Blanco, Niezgoda, Asprilla and David Ayala.

There were bookings for Zimmerman from Nashville, and David Ayala and Mcgraw, for Portland.

Portland and Nashville will next play away to Seattle Sounders and Charlotte FC respectively.
