Montreal 1-2 Sporting Kansas: Wizards land the win but remain bottom of the Western

Montréal fell to a home defeat at the hands of Sporting Kansas City at Stade Saputo on Sunday. Following today’s result, MON and Kansas currently occupy 4th and 13th spots in the table, with 29 points and 19 points respectively after 26 matches.

It was an impressive opening from MON, with a goal from Quioto in the 13th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Espinoza equalised for Kansas at the 29 minute mark. The score at half time was 1-1.

Wizards continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Walter found the net, at 63 minutes. The final result, MON 1, Kansas 2.

Substitutions for MON included Choiniere, Kamara, Torres, Ahmed Hamdi and Brault-Guillard for Kwizera, Toye, Miljevic, Piette and Lappalainen, repectively. Kansas brought on Hernandez, Duke and Voloder, to replace Rosell, Espinoza and Russell.

There were bookings for Kwizera from MON, and Rosell, Espinoza and Pierre, for Kansas.
