Montreal 2-1 Charlotte: The Minted slip to a narrow defeat at Montreal

Charlotte FC on away loss to Montreal at Stade Saputo on Sunday. As it stands, MON are currently 4th with 26 points from 22 matches, while Charlotte sit in 8th, with 20 points from 22.

It was an impressive opening from MON, when Quioto found the net early in the first half. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Corujo managed to equalize and take the sides off in the 9th minute at 1-1. However, MON just before halftime found the back of the net following a Choiniere goal, finishing the first half 2-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 2-1.

Substitutions for MON included Koné, Choiniere, Toye, Kamara and Thorkelsson for Ahmed Hamdi, Lappalainen, Torres, Quioto and Piette, repectively. Charlotte brought on Fuchs, Mcneill, Afful and Hegardt, to replace Santos, Jones, Lindsey and Alcivar.

There were bookings for Torres, Camacho and Waterman from MON. For Charlotte, Corujo and Hegardt saw yellow.
