Minnesota 3-2 Real Salt Late: The Loons hold out to claim home win

On Monday, Real Salt Lake suffer an away defeat to Minnesota United at Allianz Field. As things stand, Minnesota are currently 11th with 21 points from 24 matches, while RSL sit in 3rd, with 29 points from 24.

Minnesota dominated the first half, when Reynoso gave The Loons the lead in the 9th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Reynoso made it 2-0 just before halftime, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

Minnesota continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Amarilla at the 61 minute mark. However, Claret and Cobalt weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Savarino in the 71st minute. RSL then netted once more and hit back though thanks to a goal from Julio in the 76th minute with a final score of 3-2.

Substitutions for Minnesota included Danladi, Fisher and Hayes for Fragapane, Hlongwane and Amarilla, repectively. RSL brought on Löffelsend, Julio, Holt and Chang, to replace Caldwell, Méndez, Herrera and Meram.

There were bookings for Boxall from Minnesota, and Ruiz, Herrera and Brody, for RSL.
