Minnesota 2-0 D.C.: The Loons prove too strong for the Black and Red

Minnesota United snatched all three points from D.C. United in a 2-0 victory on Sunday, at Allianz Field. Following today’s result, Minnesota are in 6th place, with 28 points from 29 matches, while D.C. sit in 14th, with 18 points from 29.

Minnesota started the match well, with a goal from Reynoso, 13 minutes in. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

The Loons started the second half with an intensified spirit, with an early second effort from Reynoso in the 50th minute, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Minnesota included Rosales, Fisher, Hayes and Danladi for Trapp, Fragapane, Amarilla and Reynoso, repectively. D.C. replaced Smith, Djeffal, Najar, Sami Guediri and Estrada for Robertha, Ku-Dipietro, Odoi-Atsem, Canouse and Zanne.

The referee booked Sami Guediri for D.C.

Minnesota will next travel to Houston Dynamo, while D.C. will face Montréal at home.
