Los Angeles 3-2 LA Galaxy: Western Conference leaders edge five-goal thriller

Los Angeles FC beated LA Galaxy 3-2 on Saturday at Banc of California Stadium. At the moment, Los Angeles and Galaxy currently occupy 1st and 5th spots in the table, with 39 points and 27 points respectively after 26 matches.

Los Angeles started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Cifuentes found the net, 17 minutes in, finishing the first half 1-0.

Galaxy took the lead in the second half, when Grandsir found the net, 56 minutes in. However, each side looked hungry to win and Los Angeles then found the back of the net at the 70 minute mark thanks to Cifuentes, taking the score to 2-1. The Black and Gold looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Arango, 73 minutes in to establish a 3-1. Galaxy in turn, then responded, 81 minutes in increasing their lead with an effort from Raveloson and saw the match end 3-2.

Los Angeles brought on Opoku, Blessing and Ginella for Danny Musovski, Arango and Cifuentes. Galaxy brought on Víctor Vázquez, Klještan and Cabral, to replace Grandsir, Alvarez and Joveljic.

There were bookings for Palacios from Los Angeles, and Alvarez, Coulibaly, Edwards and Williams, for Galaxy.
