Inter Miami 2-1 Portland: The Timbers toppled in Florida

Inter Miami snatched all three points from Portland Timbers in a 2-1 victory on Sunday, at Inter Miami CF Stadium. Inter were looking to continue their run, following a 2-0 victory against Red Bulls. Portland, on the other hand, had lost their previous match against Philadelphia Union. Following today’s result, Inter are in 7th place on the table and has 18 points while Portland sit in 10th with 15 points after 20 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Inter, thanks to Campana giving Inter the lead, 28 minutes in. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

The Herons continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Taylor finding the net, at 60 minutes. In the end though, The Timbers, 78 minutes in hit back though via a Tuiloma goal. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-1 to Inter.

For Inter, Vassilev, Taylor, Higuaín, Mabika and Ulloa, came on for Robinson, Bryce Duke, Campana, Lassiter and Mota. Portland replaced Blanco, Moreno, Tuiloma, Bonilla and Mcgraw with Rasmussen, Van Rankin, David Ayala, Asprilla and Loria.

There were bookings for Bryce Duke, Drake Callender and Higuaín from Inter, and Paredes, Mabiala and Župarić, for Portland.
