Houston 1-2 Charlotte: The Minted bank maximum points away from home

Charlotte FC eased past Houston Dynamo in a 2-1 victory on Monday at BBVA Compass Stadium. Following today’s result, Houston are in 10th place, with 21 points from 25 matches, while Charlotte sit in 9th, with 23 points from 25.

It was an impressive opening from Charlotte, when Vera gave Charlotte the lead, 28 minutes in to take them into the break 1-0 up.

The Minted continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Shinyashiki in the 74th minute. In the end though, Houston in the 81st minute hit back though via a Picault goal so at full time it was 2-1 to Charlotte.

Substitutions for Houston included Pasher, Picault, Memo Rodríguez and Junqua for Cerén, Sebastián Ferreira, Vera and Lundqvist, repectively. Charlotte brought on Bender, Mora, Shinyashiki, Gaines and Lindsey, to replace Mcneill, Reyna, Swiderski, Jóźwiak and Afful.

There were bookings for Cerén and Steres from Houston, and Sergio Ruiz, Shinyashiki and Gaines, for Charlotte.
