Colorado Rapids 1-3 Nashville: Early flurry of goals gives visitors a comfortable win

Colorado Rapids suffered a home loss to Nashville SC at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Sunday. COLO were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Nashville secured a point against Atlanta United in their previous match. As it stands, COLO and Nashville currently occupy 9th and 5th spots in the table, with 18 points and 22 points respectively after 20 matches.

Nashville started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Sapong finding the net at the 9 minute mark. The momentum was now with Nashville, who then scored again through a goal from Mukhtar, at 15 minutes to establish a 2-0. However they weren’t finished yet and Mukhtar made it 3-0 at the 17 minute mark, which saw the first half end 0-3.

COLO took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Rubio in the 78th minute so at full time it was 3-1 to Nashville.

For COLO, Max, Kaye, Barrios and Mezquida, came on for Markanich, Acosta, Zardes and Price. Nashville brought on Washington, Mccarty, Aké Loba and Godoy, to replace Haakenson, Miller, Mukhtar and Tah Anunga.

There were bookings for Rubio, Abubakar and Acosta from COLO, and Miller and Mukhtar, for Nashville.
