Cincinnati 2-2 Vancouver Whitecaps: The Village hold out for a point

Cin were held to 2-2 draw by Caps down on Thursday at Nippert Stadium. After today’s result, Cin and Caps currently occupy 6th and 9th spots in the league, with 27 points and 25 points respectively after 27 matches.

Cin started the first half well, with an early goal from Barreal in the 3rd minute. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Gauld 5 minutes into the game brought The Village level. However, Orange and Blue, 23 minutes in reestablished their lead via a Vázquez goal. The score at half time was 2-1.

Caps took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Dájome at the 83 minute mark, leaving the final score at 2-2.

Substitutions for Cin included Santos, Medunjanin, Murphy and Ordonez for Vázquez, Kubo, Cameron and Santos, repectively. Caps replaced Nerwinski, Boehmer, White, Baldisimo, Caio Alexandre and Ricketts with Brown, Cropper, Vite, Godoy, Cavallini and Teibert.

There were bookings for Nwobodo and Blackett from Cin. For Caps, Teibert and Gauld saw yellow.
