Austin 3-1 Houston: Dynamo suffer heavy loss after opening the scoring at Austin

Houston Dynamo on away loss to Austin at Q2 Stadium on Wednesday. Following today’s result, Austin are in 1st place, with 40 points from 27 matches, while Houston sit in 11th, with 22 points from 27.

The first half of the match started favourably for Houston, thanks to a goal from Carrasquilla in the 11th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Fagundez equalised for Los Verdes at the 15 minute mark, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

Austin rallied after this and were rewarded, when Maxi Urruti found the net, 57 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Ring, 70 minutes in with a final score of 3-1.

Substitutions for Austin included Nick Lima, Pereira, Felipe Martins, Redes and Stroud for Jiménez, Wolff, Finlay, Driussi and Ring, repectively. Houston replaced Herrera, Quintero, Dorsey, Junqua and Steres with Carrasquilla, Vera, Zeca, Lundqvist and Hadebe.

There were bookings for Nick Lima from Austin, and Hadebe, Lundqvist and Herrera, for Houston.
