Troyes 1 – Lens 3: Blood and Gold leave Stade de l’Aube with all 3 points

Troyes on Saturday lost to RC Lens on a home defeat at Stade de l’Aube. Troyes wanted to improve their league standing after a 2-2 draw against Paris Saint-Germain while Lens were coming off the back of a 2-1 win against Reims. Following today’s result, Troyes are currently 15th with 37 points from 37 matches, while Lens sit in 7th, with 61 points from 37.

Troyes started the game well, with Giulian Biancone finding the net after 14 minutes. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Kevin Danso managed to equalize and take the sides off at the 42 minute mark at 1-1. Lens then scored once more and turned the match thanks to a goal from Arnaud Kalimuendo just before half-time, finishing the first half 1-2.

Blood and Gold continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Jonathan Clauss finding the net, at 71 minutes. The game ended with a 3-1 victory for the visitors.

For Troyes, Ike Ugbo, Yasser Larouci, Lebo Mothiba and Mama Balde, came on for Yoann Touzghar, Abdu Conte, Renaud Ripart and Xavier Chavalerin. Lens brought on Ignatius Kpene Ganago, Patrick Berg and Deiver Machado, to replace Arnaud Kalimuendo, David Pereira Da Costa and Przemyslaw Frankowski.

There were bookings for Issa Kabore from Troyes, and Facundo Medina and Przemyslaw Frankowski, for Lens.

Troyes will next travel to FC Lorient, while Lens will face AS Mónaco at home.
