Lens 1 – Troyes 0: Blood and Gold celebrate win at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis

Troyes on away loss to Lens at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Friday. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Lens were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Reims in their previous game. Troyes had to settle for a draw 1-1 against Rennes. Lens and Troyes sit 1st, (17 points) and 11th, (7 points), spots respectively, after 7 matches.

Blood and Gold started strong and were rewarded, when Kevin Danso gave them the lead in the 39th minute to see out the first half 1-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.

Substitutions for Lens included Przemyslaw Frankowski, Seko Fofana, Alexis Claude-Maurice and Adam Buksa for Jonathan Gradit, Lukasz Poreba, David Pereira Da Costa and Lois Openda, respectively. Troyes replaced Ike Ugbo, Rony Lopes, Erik Palmer-Brown, Thierno Balde and Florian Tardieu for Wilson Odobert, Abdu Conte, Pape Ndiaga Yade, Renaud Ripart and Lucien Agoume.

There were bookings for Lukasz Poreba and Jimmy Cabot from Lens, and Florian Tardieu, for Troyes.
