Sunday – 8:45pm GMT – the Orange Velodrome.

Marseille will face Reims this Sunday, in the Season’s first clash between the two teams.

The aim of Marseille’s Igor Tudor is to get a shot at the title

The work that Igor Tudor put in last year with Marseille was spectacular as the team achieved a good result (2nd position), but a new year means a different story and, with lots of teams signing and transfering players, Olympique de Marseille will have to make a special effort if they want to succeed again this year

Not all teams in the Ligue 1 can do what Olympique de Marseille did last year; that is, a 63 – 38 in goals scored/conceded that invites us to consider that the team is doing things the right way.

It is likely that three key players will miss Sunday’s fixture, which is something of a concern for Igor Tudor and his Marseille team.

It’s time for Reims to make a great season happen

During last season, Reims reached the 12th position in the standings after a hard year. For this season, players must train hard and play every game as if it is their last to survive in the Ligue 1.

Last year the team did a good job, with a record of 43 – 44, and they hope that this year they will be able to step up their game.

Reims are no strangers this season to illness and injury and Oscar Garcia is concerned that Sunday’s fixture could see him without six of his key players

Regarding their historical duels Marseille and Reims have faced each other 16 times in the past, with the balance of wins sitting in Marseille’s favour (6 – 4). Additionally, Marseille recent form against Reims has been outstanding, winning on three out of the last six meetings. April 2022 was the most recent time these two clashed in this competition and The Red and Whites took all three points winning 0-1 away.
