Lille 1-0 Lens: Les Dogues secure the points at the Stade Pierre Mauroy

RC Lens fell to an away defeat at the hands of Lille at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Sunday. Lille were hoping to get something from this game, following defeat to FC Lorient while Lens had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Lyon. Lille are now in 7th place on the table and have 16 points while Lens sit in 4th with 21 points after 10 matches.

Lille started the match strongly, when Jonathan David found the net just before half-time The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Lille included Tim Weah, Carlos Baleba and Jonas Martin for Jonathan Bamba, Andre Gomes and Angel Gomes, respectively. Lens brought on Przemyslaw Frankowski, Wesley Said, Alexis Claude-Maurice, Ismael Boura and Adam Buksa, to replace Jimmy Cabot, David Pereira Da Costa, Florian Sotoca, Deiver Machado and Massadio Haidara.

There were bookings for Jose Fonte, Andre Gomes and Benjamin Andre from Lille, and Jimmy Cabot, Facundo Medina, Massadio Haidara, Deiver Machado and Przemyslaw Frankowski, for Lens.

Lille will next travel to RC Strasburg, while Lens will face Montpellier at home.
