Nice beat Lille with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday at Stade Pierre Mauroy. Lille were looking to continue their good run, following a 3-1 victory against AC Ajaccio. Nice had lost their previous match against Olympique de Marseille. Lille and Nice currently occupy 8th and 15th spots in the table, with 7 points and 5 points respectively after 5 matches.

Les Dogues started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Jonathan Bamba found the net on the 20 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Andy Delort on the 22 minute mark, brought Nice level. The Eagles then netted again and turned the match thanks to a goal from Nicolas Pepe, 29 minutes in. The first half ended 2-1. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-1 at full time.

Substitutions for Lille included Mohamed Bayo, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Alan Virginius for Yusuf Yazici, Ismaily and Edon Zhegrova, respectively. Nice brought on Billal Brahimi and Alexis Beka Beka, to replace Andy Delort and Kephren Thuram-Ulien.

There were bookings for Jonathan Bamba from Lille. For Nice, Pablo Rosario, Melvin Bard, Youcef Atal and Kephren Thuram-Ulien saw yellow.
