Cleermont 1 – Brest 3: The Pirates travel to Stade Gabriel Montpied and get victory

Cleermont on Sunday lost to Brest on a home defeat at Stade Gabriel Montpied. Cleermont were on the hunt for more points after a 1-1 draw against AS Mónaco while Brest were beaten 4-1 in their previous match against Nantes. Cleermont and Brest are 9th, (17 points) and 17th, (9 points), in the league respectively, after 12 matches.

The Pirates started the match strongly, thanks to a goal from Romain Del Castillo, at 15 minutes, ending the first half 1-0.

Brest fought back, when Franck Honorat found the net, 54 minutes in. Brest looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Jeremy Le Douaron, at 68 minutes to establish a 3-0. In the end though, Cleermont pull-back just before the final whistle, with a goal from Jim Allevinah, leaving the final score at 3-1.

Substitutions for Cleermont included Elbasan Rashani, Grejohn Kyei, Jim Allevinah, Yanis Massolin and Jodel Dossou for Maxime Gonalons, Yohann Magnin, Neto Borges, Johan Gastien and Komnen Andric, respectively. Brest brought on Jeremy Le Douaron, Haris Belkebla, Hugo Magnetti, Irvin Cardona and Karamoko Dembele, to replace Islam Slimani, Romain Del Castillo, Mathias Pereira Lage, Franck Honorat and Pierre Lees-Melou.

There were bookings for Alidu Seidu, Yohann Magnin, Maximiliano Caufriez and Mateusz Wieteska from Cleermont. For Brest, Islam Slimani saw yellow.

Cleermont will next travel to Nantes, while Brest will face Reims at home.
