Bordeaux 3 – Metz 1: Home win for Les Girondins at the Matmut Atlantique Stadiums

Bordeaux beats FC Metz 3-1 on Sunday at the Matmut Atlantique Stadiums. Bordeaux wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Lille in their previous game. Metz, on the other hand, were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against AS Mónaco. After today’s result, Bordeaux and Metz sit 19th, (26 points) and 20th, (23 points), in the league respectively, after 31 matches.

Metz scored first, with Didier Lamkel Ze finding the net in the 21st minute, to take a 0-1 lead into half time.

Bordeaux started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to a goal from Ricardo Mangas in the 52nd minute. Les Girondins looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Mbaye Niang, 68 minutes in to establish a 2-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Hwang Ui-Jo made it 3-1 just before the final whistle with a final score of 3-1.

For Bordeaux, Tom Lacoux, Gideon Mensah, Yacine Adli and Sekou Mara, came on for Timothee Pembele, Stian Gregersen, Mbaye Niang and Javairo Dilrosun. Metz brought on Farid Boulaya, Louis Mafouta, Pape Ndiaga Yade and Opa Nguette for Nicolas De Preville, Didier Lamkel Ze, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik and Fali Cande.

There were bookings for Tom Lacoux, Stian Gregersen and Hwang Ui-Jo from Bordeaux, and Didier Lamkel Ze and Kiki, for Metz.

Bordeaux will next travel to Lyon, while Metz will face Clermont Foot at home.
