Auxerre 1-1 Nice: Victory beyond reach for Auxerre at Stade de l’Abbe-Deschamps

Auxerre were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Nice on Sunday at Stade de l’Abbe-Deschamps. Auxerre were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 2-1 to Clermont Foot. Nice, meanwhile, were coming off the back of a 3-2 win against Troyes. Auxerre are now in 16th place, with 9 points from 11 matches, while Nice sit in 13th, with 12 points from 11.

Nice dominated the first half, when Andy Delort gave them the lead, 20 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Nuno Da Costa equalised for Auxerre just before half-time to see out the first half 1-1. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Auxerre included Mbaye Niang, Gaetan Perrin, Remy Dugimont and Gauthier Hein for Hamza Sakhi, Nuno Da Costa, Lassine Sinayoko and Mathias Autret, respectively. Nice brought on Nicolas Pepe, Aaron Ramsey, Alexis Beka Beka and Antoine Mendy, to replace Andy Delort, Kephren Thuram-Ulien, Mario Lemina and Jordan Lotomba.

Auxerre will next travel to Reims, while Nice will face Nantes at home.
