Monaco 4-1 Nantes: The Yellow House blown away at the Stade Louis II

Nantes on away loss to Monaco at the Stade Louis II on Sunday. Monaco were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Reims away and Lyon at home, by 3-0 and 2-1 respectively. Nantes were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Monaco and Nantes currently occupy 5th and 16th spots in the table, with 17 points and 7 points respectively after 9 matches.

The Monégasques started the first half well, with an early goal from Breel Embolo in the 2nd minute. Monaco looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a goal from Wissam Ben Yedder in the 6th minute to establish a 2-0. Monaco then scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a effort from Wissam Ben Yedder in the 28th minute. The score at break remained 3-0.

The Monégasques once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Wissam Ben Yedder found the net once more on the 62 minute mark. In the end though, The Yellow House then grabbed a goal from Caio Henrique, 79 minutes in so at full time it was 4-1 to Monaco.

Substitutions for Monaco included Kevin Volland, Malang Sarr, Guillermo Maripan, Takumi Minamino and Eliot Matazo for Breel Embolo, Benoit Badiashile, Vanderson, Aleksandr Golovin and Youssouf Fofana, respectively. Nantes replaced Jean-Charles Castelletto, Moses Simon, Ignatius Kpene Ganago, Moussa Sissoko and Evann Guessand for Sebastien Corchia, Mostafa Mohamed, Ludovic Blas, Lohann Doucet and Abdoul Kader Bamba.

The referee booked one player from Nantes, Andrei.

Next up, Monaco are away to Montpellier, whilst Nantes will travel to face Rennes.
