Angers 1-2 Lens: Blood and Gold jubilant battling road success
Angers on Saturday lost to RC Lens on a home defeat at the Stade Raymond Kopa. Angers were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 2-0 to AS Mónaco. Lens were coming from consecutive wins against Tolouse FC and Olympique de Marseille. Angers are now in 20th place on the table and have 8 points while Lens sit in 2nd with 33 points after 14 matches.
Lens started the match strongly, when Wesley Said gave them the lead, at 21 minutes, finishing the first half 1-0.
Blood and Gold staged a comeback in the second half, when Facundo Medina found the net in the 51st minute. In the end though, Angers pull-back following a Miha Blazic goal just before the final whistle, seing the match finish 2-1.
Substitutions for Angers included Abdallah Sima, Pierrick Capelle, Sada Thioub, Himad Abdelli and Waniss Taibi for Amine Salama, Azzedine Ounahi, Farid El Melali, Adrien Hunou and Batista Mendy, respectively.
