QPR 1 – Sheffield U 3: Visitors steal the show at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium

Sheffield United beat Queens Park Rangers with a thumping 3-1 victory on Friday at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. QPR were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Stoke City. Sheffield U, on the other hand, were coming from a 1-0 win against Cardiff City. After today’s result, QPR and Sheffield U currently occupy 11th and 6th spots in the league, with 63 points and 72 points respectively after 45 matches.

Rangers started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Charlie Austin finding the net in the 31st minute. The score at half time was 1-0.

Sheffield U started the second half with renewed vigour, thanks to Iliman Ndiaye finding the net at the 54 minute mark. The Blades looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Jack Robinson, at 73 minutes to establish a 2-1. Sheffield U then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Conor Hourihane just before the final whistle to make it 3-1.

For QPR, Lyndon Dykes, Osman Kakay and George Thomas, came on for Charlie Austin, Luke Amos and Andre Dozzell. Sheffield U brought on William Osula and Conor Hourihane for Iliman Ndiaye and John Fleck.

There were bookings for Sam McCallum and Stefan Johansen from QPR. For Sheffield U, John Fleck and Jack Robinson saw yellow.

QPR will next play Swansea City away, with Sheffield U facing Fulham at home.
