Morecambe 1-1 Fleetwood: Points shared at Globe Arena as visitors recover

Morecambe FC were held to 1-1 draw by Fleetwood Town down on Saturday at Globe Arena. Morecambe FC were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Peterborough United. Fleetwood Town were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Plymouth Argyle in their last match. At the moment, Morecambe FC and Fleetwood Town sit 21st, (2 points) and 12th, (4 points), spots respectively, after 3 matches.

Morecambe FC dominated the first half, when Arthur Gnahoua gave Morecambe FC the lead at the 32 minute mark. The score at half time was 1-0.

Fleetwood Town took the initiative in the second half, when Danny Andrew found the net at the 83 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Morecambe FC included Dylan Edward Connolly, Caleb Watts, Shane McLoughlin and Jacob Bedeau for Arthur Gnahoua, Liam Gibson, Ashley Hunter and Jake Taylor, repectively. Fleetwood Town replaced Callum Morton, Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu, Gerard Garner, Shaun Rooney and Daniel Batty for Cian Hayes, Promise Omochere, Joe Garner, Carl Johnston and Harvey Macadam.

The referee booked Donald Love and Ashley Hunter from Morecambe FC. Fleetwood Town had the worst of it though, with Danny Andrew seeing yellow, and Paddy Lane then sent off with a red.

Morecambe FC will next travel to Bolton Wanderers, while Fleetwood Town will face Cheltenham Town at home.
