Exeter 4-0 Port Vale: The Grecians blaze 4 past The Valiants at St James Park

Exeter City beat Port Vale with a thumping 4-0 victory on Saturday at St James Park. Exeter arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Lincoln City in their previous game. Port Vale, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Fleetwood Town in their last match. Following today’s result, Exeter are in 2nd place, with 4 points from 2 matches, while Port Vale sit in 17th, with 3 points from 2.

Exeter didn’t take long to start the rout, when Harry Kite opened the rout, 24 minutes in. The Grecians then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Jevani Brown in the 38th minute, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

Exeter continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Jevani Brown found the net again, 72 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Sam Nombe in the 75th minute to make it 4-0.

Substitutions for Exeter included Kgaogelo Chauke, Josh Coley, Matt Jay, Jake Caprice and Jonathan Grounds for Harry Kite, Sam Nombe, Archie Collins, Josh Key and Jevani Brown, repectively. Port Vale brought on Tom Conlon, Thierry Small, Rory Holden, Dan Jones and Tom Pett, to replace Harry Charsley, Malvind Benning, Tommy McDermott, Samson Robinson and Jamie Proctor.

The referee booked Cheick Diabate and Pierce Sweeney for Exeter.

Exeter will next travel to Cambridge Utd, while Port Vale will face Bolton Wanderers at home.
