Accrington 1-0 Cheltenham: First-minute goal sink Robins at The Crown Ground

Accrington Stanley banked all three points against the Cheltenham Town in a narrow 1-0 victory on Saturday, at The Crown Ground. Accrington Stanley were hoping to get something from this game after losing 1-0 to Wycombe Wanderers in their previous fixture. Cheltenham Town, meanwhile, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Cambridge Utd. Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham Town currently occupy 17th and 20th spots in the league, with 10 points and 8 points respectively after 10 matches.

Accrington Stanley started the match strongly, with an early goal from Sean McConville in the 1st minute, concluding the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Accrington Stanley brought on Bailey Sloane, Ethan Hamilton and Mo Sangare for Harvey Rodgers, Tommy Leigh and Joe Pritchard. Cheltenham Town brought on Alfie May, Christian Norton and Ben Williams, to replace George Lloyd, Ryan Jackson and William Ferry.

There were bookings for Ryan Astley, Joe Pritchard and Lukas Jensen from Accrington Stanley, and Ryan Jackson and Taylor Perry, for Cheltenham Town.
