Valencia 5-1 Getafe: The Bats cruise past Deep Blues at Mestalla
Valencia see Getafe off 5-1 on Sunday at Mestalla. Valencia arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing their last match 1-0 to Atletico Madrid. Getafe, meanwhile, had secured a point against Villarreal in their previous match. The momentum was again with Valencia, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Lino, 14 minutes in to establish a 2-0 result. However they weren’t finished yet and Samu Castillejo made it 3-0, 16 minutes in, which saw the first half end 3-0.
The Bats continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, with a goal from Nicolas Gonzalez on the 65 minute mark. Valencia looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a goal from Hugo Duro, at 68 minutes to establish a 5-0. In the end though, Deep Blues then grabbed a goal from Gaston Alvarez, 78 minutes in, leaving a rampant Valencia with a resounding 5-1.
Substitutions for Valencia included Hugo Duro, Andre Almeida, Dimitri Foulquier, Moriba Ilaix and Cristhian Mosquera for Marcos De Sousa, Nicolas Gonzalez, Lato Toni, Samu Castillejo and Mouctar Diakhaby, respectively. Getafe brought on Stefan Mitrovic, Gaston Alvarez, Munir El Haddadi, Nemanja Maksimovic and Jaime Mata, to replace Djene, Jaime Seoane, Carles Alena, Portu and Enes Unal.
