Betis 3-0 Elche: Ilicitano sunk by impressive Betis performance

Elche lost their first match in the new LaLiga campaign against Real Betis. Today’s result, Betis are in 2nd place, with 3 points from 1 match, while Elche sit in 20th, with 0 points from 1.

The Green-and-Whites started strongly in the first half, when Borja Iglesias opened the rout, 28 minutes in. Betis then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Juanmi at the 39 minute mark, finishing the first half 2-0.

Betis continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Juanmi found the net again in the 60th minute. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 3-0 to Betis.

Substitutions for Betis included Rober, Francisco Rojano, Loren Moron, Paul Akouokou and Juan Miranda for Nabil Fekir, Aitor Ruibal, Borja Iglesias, Guido Rodriguez and Rodri, repectively. Elche brought on Tete Morente, Diego Gonzalez, Ezequiel Ponce, Josan and Alejandro Alfaro, to replace Fidel, Enzo Roco, Roger Marti, Pere Milla and Gerard Gumbau.

The referee booked Nabil Fekir, Aitor Ruibal and Juanmi from Betis. Elche had the worst of it though, with Pere Milla, Gerard Gumbau, Fidel, Roger Marti, Josan and Johan Mojica seeing yellow, and John Nwankwo Donald then sent off with a red.

In the second round of action in the LaLiga Betis will travel to play Mallorca and Elche will play Almería at home.
