Mallorca 2 – Granada 6: Home advantage means nothing for The Vermilions

Granada cruises against Mallorca on an away win at Estadi de Son Moix on Saturday. Mallorca were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Barcelona. Granada, on the other hand, secured a point against Celta Vigo in their previous match. As it stands, Mallorca are in 16th place, with 32 points from 35 matches, while Granada sit in 18th, with 31 points from 35.

Granada didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with Luis Suarez opening the rout early in the first half. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Salva Sevilla producing an equaliser in the 28th minute, bringing The Vermilions level. However, Nasrids secured the points emphatically, with a goal from Sergio Escudero just before half-time to see out the first half 1-2.

Granada fought back, with a goal from Antonio Puertas in the 55th minute. However, Mallorca weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Raillo in the 58th minute. However, Granada increased their advantage following a Jorge Molina goal at the 69 minute mark to make it 4-2. Nasrids looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Myrto Uzuni, 78 minutes in to establish a 5-2. However they weren’t finished yet and Jorge Molina made it 6-2 just before the final whistle with a final score of 6-2.

For Mallorca, Kang In Lee, Antonio Sanchez, Angel Rodriguez, Javier Llabres and Brian Olivan, came on for Abdon, Dani Rodriguez, Salva Sevilla, Take and Jaume Costa. Granada replaced Jorge Molina, Maxime Gonalons, Myrto Uzuni, German Sanchez and Santiago Arias with Luis Suarez, Alex Collado, Darwin Machis, Antonio Puertas and Sergio Escudero.

There were bookings for Raillo, Pablo Maffeo and Martin Valjent from Mallorca. For Granada, Domingos Duarte and Njegos Petrovic saw yellow.

Mallorca will next play Seville away, with Granada facing Athletic Bilbao at home.
