Levante 2 – Barca 3: Los Blaugranas leave the Ciutat de Valencia with 3 points

Barcelona defeat Levante 3-2 on Sunday at the Ciutat de Valencia. Both Levante and Barca arrived on the back of wins. Levante were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 2-0 victory against Villarreal whilst Barca were coming from consecutive wins against Seville and R Madrid. At the moment, Levante are in 19th place, with 22 points from 31 matches, while Barca sit in 2nd, with 60 points from 31.

After a goalless first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on The Frogs who started the second half well, with a goal from Jose Luis Morales at the 52 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 59 minutes in, brought Barca level. Los Blaugranas looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Pedri at the 63 minute mark to establish a 2-1. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Gonzalo Melero, 83 minutes in, brought Levante level. Barca in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Luuk De Jong. The game ended with a 3-2 win for Barca.

For Levante, Dani Gomez, Gonzalo Melero, Enis Bardhi, Alejandro Cantero and Marc Pubill Pages, came on for Roger Marti, Jose Campana, Nemanja Radoja, Ruben Vezo and Jose Luis Morales. Barca brought on Gavi, Pedri, Clement Lenglet, Luuk De Jong and Adama Traore, to replace Frenkie De Jong, Nicolas Gonzalez, Dani Alves, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele.

There were bookings for Jose Campana from Levante. For Barca, Ronald Araujo saw yellow.

Levante will next play Granada away, with Barca facing Cádiz at home.
