Cádiz 1-1 RMA: Cadiz earn survival point against Champions Real Madrid

On Sunday, Cádiz and RMA were held to a 1-1 draw at Estadio Ramon de Carranza. Cádiz arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Real Sociedad. RMA were coming off the back of a 6-0 win against Levante. As the table looks today, Cádiz are in 18th place on the table and has 36 points while RMA sit in 1st with 85 points after 37 matches.

The first half of the game started favourably for Los Blancos, with an early goal from Mariano Diaz in the 5th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Ruben Sobrino equalised for Cádiz at the 37 minute mark, to take a 1-1 lead into half time. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Cádiz, Jose Mari, Isaac Carcelén and Anthony Lozano, came on for Alex, Carlos Akapo and Oussama Idrissi. RMA replaced Dani Carvajal, Eden Hazard, Dani Ceballos and Juan Latasa with Lucas Vazquez, Rodrygo, Jesus Vallejo and Mariano Diaz.

There were bookings for Ruben Sobrino, Alvaro Negredo, Isaac Carcelén, Ruben Alcaraz and Luis Hernandez from Cádiz, and Nacho and Eden Hazard, for RMA.

Cádiz will next travel to Alaves, while RMA will face Real Betis at home.
