Barca 0 – Cádiz 1: Los Blaugranas narrowly defeated at home by gaditano

Cádiz beat Barcelona with a thumping 1-0 victory on Monday at the Nou Camp. Barca were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Levante away (3-2), the other to Seville at home (1-0). Cádiz lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Real Betis. As it stands, Barca are currently 2nd with 60 points from 32 matches, while Cádiz sit in 16th, with 31 points from 32.

After a goalless first half, Cádiz certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with an early goal from Lucas Perez in the 48th minute, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

For Barca, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Luuk De Jong, Adama Traore and Óscar Mingueza, came on for Memphis Depay, Frenkie De Jong, Clement Lenglet and Sergino Dest. Cádiz replaced Ivan Alejo, Fede San Emeterio, Carlos Akapo, Víctor Chust and Santiago Arzamendia with Salvi Sanchez, Jose Mari, Raul Parra Artal, Jens Jonsson and Ruben Sobrino.

There were bookings for Sergio Busquets, Sergino Dest, Ferran Torres and Jordi Alba from Barca. For Cádiz, Luis Hernandez saw yellow.

Barca will next play Real Sociedad away, with Cádiz facing Athletic Bilbao at home.
