Alaves 0-1 Cádiz: Cadiz preserve La Liga status with away win at Alaves

Alaves succumbed to a home defeat against Cádiz at the Estadio de Mendizorroza on Sunday. Alaves were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Levante while Cádiz secured a point against R Madrid in their previous match. This left, Alaves and Cádiz are 20th (31 points) and 17th (39 points) in the league respectively, after a total of 38 matches.

Following a goalless first half, Cádiz continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Anthony Lozano finding the net at the 76 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-0.

For Alaves, Manu Vallejo, Javi Lopez, Marc Tenas, Unai Ropero and Toni Moya, came on for Jason, Ruben Duarte, Martin Aguirregabiria, Manu Garcia and Pere Pons. Cádiz brought on Anthony Lozano, Jose Mari, Juan Cala, Tomás Alarcon and Salvi Sanchez, to replace Alvaro Negredo, Ruben Alcaraz, Fali, Lucas Perez and Oussama Idrissi.

The referee booked one player from Cádiz, Luis Hernandez.
