Saint-Gilloise 0-1 Union Berlin: The Iron Ones claim narrow victory on the road

Union Berlin secured a 1-0 win against Union Saint-Gilloise at Stade Joseph Marien on Thursday. Both Saint-Gilloise and Union Berlin arrived on the back of wins. Saint-Gilloise had been hopeful of continuing their good run, following a 2-0 victory against Malmö. Union Berlin were coming from consecutive wins against Sporting Braga and Malmö. Following this match, Saint-Gilloise and Union Berlin sit 1st (13 points) and 2nd (12 points) in the league respectively, after a total of 6 matches.

Union Berlin started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Sven Michel gave them the lead early in the first half, concluding the first half 1-0. The second part ended with little further action at either end and goalless.
