Seattle 4-0 Vancouver: Brace from Ruidiaz help Sounders romp to an easy win over the Caps

Seattle Sounders’ 4-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday, was hard fought at CenturyLink Field. Following today’s result, Seattle are in 11th place in the table and have 10 points while Caps sit in 14th with 4 points after 13 matches.

The Sounders started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early penalty goal from Lodeiro in the 5th minute. Seattle then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Ruidíaz in the 28th minute, concluding the first half 2-0.

Seattle started the second half with renewed vigour, when Ruidíaz found the net again at the 54 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Roldan just before the final whistle to make it 4-0.

Substitutions for Seattle included Bruin, Teves, Leyva, Dobbelaere and Cissoko for Ruidíaz, Medranda, Montero, Leo Chú and Lodeiro, repectively. Caps brought on Caio Alexandre, Dájome, Cubas, Ricketts, Blackmon and Raposo, to replace Owusu, Martins, Jungwirth, White, Jakob Nerwinski and Caicedo.

The referee booked two players from Caps, Cubas and Caio Alexandre.
