Cuiaba 1-2 Flamengo: Flamengo up to fourth with away win

Flamengo eased past Cuiaba in a 2-1 victory on Sunday at Arena Pantanal. Cuiaba were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 2-1 to Red Bull Bragantino in their previous fixture. Flamengo, meanwhile, had secured a point against Internacional in their previous match. Cuiaba are now in 17th place, with 30 points from 31 matches, while Flamengo sit in 5th, with 49 points from 31.

Following a goalless first half, Flamengo continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Matheus Franca found the net in the 58th minute. Flamengo looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Marinho, at 66 minutes to establish a 2-0. In the end though, Cuiaba pull-back via a Rafael Gava goal just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Cuiaba included Paulao, Rafael Gava, Alesson, Marcao Silva and Valdivia for Marllon, Pepe, Rodriguinho, Daniel Guedes and Andre Luis, respectively. Flamengo brought on Matheus Franca, Igor, Petterson Novaes Reis and Cleiton for Mateusao, Arturo Vidal, Everton and Marinho.

There were bookings for Kelvin Osorio and Alan Empereur from Cuiaba, and Diego, for Flamengo.

Cuiaba will play away against Ceará, while Flamengo will face Atl. Mineiro at home.
