Sheriff 1-0 Omonia: Visitors unable to get win at Zimbru

Omonia Nicosia suffered an away defeat to Sheriff Tiraspol at Zimbru on Thursday. Both Sheriff and Omonia arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Sheriff were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 3-0 to Manchester United while Omonia had lost their previous match against Real Sociedad. Following this match, Sheriff are now in 3rd place on the table and have 6 points while Omonia sit in 4th with 0 points after 6 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Sheriff piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Rasheed Ibrahim Akanbi just before the final whistle, seing the match finish 1-0.
