U. Católica 1-0 Antofagasta: Lone first-half goal enough for hosts

U. Católica enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Antofagasta at San Carlos de Apoquindo on Monday. U. Católica were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Audax Italiano. Antofagasta, on the other hand, secured a point against Everton Viña del Mar in their previous match. As the table looks today, U. Católica are currently 10th with 19 points from 15 matches, while Antofagasta sit in 16th, with 11 points from 15.

U. Católica started the match well, when Diego Valencia found the net just before halftime With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.

Both managers used the full entitlement. Substitutions for U. Católica included Cristian Cuevas and Fabian Orellana for Felipe Gutierrez and Gonzalo Tapia, repectively, Antofagasta brought on Matias Fredes, Andres Souper, Diego Orellana Riffo and Paulo Magalhaes to replace Maykol Sanchez, Jason Flores, Marco Collao and Byron Nieto.
