Huachipato 4 – Univ de Chile 0: Bad day for visitors at Estadio Cap

Univ de Chile fell to an away defeat at the hands of Huachipato at Estadio Cap on Sunday. Huachipato were looking forward to playing again after losing 2-0 to Ñublense in their previous fixture. Univ de Chile had secured a point against Everton Viña del Mar in their previous match. Huachipato and Univ de Chile currently occupy 12th and 13th spots in the league, with 35 points and 30 points respectively after 29 matches.

Huachipato started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Joaquin Gutierrez opened the rout after only 7 minutes. The momentum was again with Huachipato, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Juan Sanchez on the 22 minute mark to establish a 2-0 result. However they weren’t finished yet and Javier Altamirano made it 3-0, 27 minutes in, ending the first half 3-0.

Huachipato once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, with a goal from Walter Mazzantti in the 60th minute. The match ended 4-0 to Huachipato.

Substitutions for Huachipato included Antonio Castillo, Carlos Lobos, Marcelo Canete, Cris Martinez and Juan Cordova for Renzo Malanca, Osvaldo Gonzalez, Walter Mazzantti, Juan Sanchez and Joaquin Gutierrez, respectively. Univ de Chile brought on Lucas Assadi, Dario Osorio, Pablo Aranguiz, Felipe Seymour and Yahir Salazar, to replace Jeisson Vargas, Felipe Gallegos, Cesar Lobos, Pedro Ojeda and Jose Ignacio Castro Mena.

The referee booked Claudio Sepulveda and Carlos Lobos from Huachipato. Univ de Chile had the worst of it though, with Pedro Ojeda and Bastian Tapia seeing yellow, and Pablo Aranguiz then sent off with a red.

Huachipato will next travel to Palestino, while Univ de Chile will face Cobresal at home.
