Huachipato 3-4 Unión La Calera: Huachipato slump for fourth consecutive loss

Huachipato were defeated at home by Unión La Calera at Estadio Cap on Tuesday. Huachipato arrived at the match looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Unión Española. Unión La Calera, on the other hand, secured a point against Palestino in their previous match. As it stands, Huachipato and Unión La Calera currently occupy 11th and 14th spots in the table, with 25 points and 19 points respectively after 21 matches.

The first half of the match started favourably for Unión La Calera, when Lucas Passerini gave Unión La Calera the lead, 14 minutes in. Unión La Calera looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Williams Alarcon, 34 minutes in to establish a 2-0. However, Huachipato weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Javier Altamirano, 36 minutes in. However, Unión La Calera increased their lead 3-1 thanks to a goal from Matias Cavalleri in the 45th minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Gonzalo Castellani just before halftime, which saw the first half end 4-1.

Huachipato started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with a goal from Juan Sanchez, 51 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Maxi Rodriguez made it 4-3 just before the final whistle with a final score of 4-3.

Substitutions for Huachipato included Renzo Malanca, Cris Martinez, Luciano Nequecaur, Jimmy Martinez and Claudio Torres for Joaquin Gutierrez, Nicolas Baeza, Walter Mazzantti, Claudio Sepulveda and Juan Sanchez, repectively. Unión La Calera brought on Sebastian Pereira, Yerco Oyanedel, Martin Villarroel and Brayan Garrido, to replace Patricio Flores, Nicolas Orellana, Sebastian Saez and Matias Cavalleri.

There were bookings for Jimmy Martinez from Huachipato. For Unión La Calera, Sebastian Saez, Henry Sanhueza, Ignacio Arce, Sebastian Pereira and Brayan Garrido saw yellow.

Huachipato will play their next fixture away against La Serena, while Unión La Calera will face Antofagasta at home.
