On Sunday, Colo Colo and Curicó played out a 1-1 draw at Monumental David Arellano. Colo Colo were on the hunt for more points after a scoreless draw against U. Católica in their previous match. Curicó were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against La Serena in their last match. Colo Colo are now in 1st place, with 56 points from 27 matches, while Curicó sit in 2nd, with 47 points from 27.

Colo Colo started strongly in the first half, when Gabriel Costa gave them the lead, 40 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Diego Coelho equalised for Curicó just before half-time, to take a 1-1 lead into half time. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Both coaches used the full entitlement. Substitutions for Colo Colo included Marco Rojas and Alexander Oroz for Marcos Bolados and Vicente Pizarro, respectively, Curicó brought on Mario Sandoval, Rodrigo Holgado, Diego Urzua and Joaquin Gonzalez to replace Felipe Ortiz, Diego Coelho, Yerko Leiva and Bayron Oyarzo.

The referee booked Oscar Opazo and Juan Lucero from Colo Colo and Juan Lucero (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Curicó’s Ronald de la Fuente, Franco Bechtholdt, Mario Sandoval, Yerko Leiva and Matias Cahais also received a yellow.

Curicó and Colo Colo will next play away to Audax Italiano and Coquimbo Unido respectively.
