Cobresal 1-0 Univ de Chile: Waterman goal lands Cobresal maximum points

Cobresal’s 1-0 win over Univ de Chile on Sunday, was hard fought at El Cobre, El Salvador. Cobresal were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 3-1 to Palestino. Univ de Chile were looking to extend their winning run after a 3-2 victory against Huachipato. After today’s result, Cobresal are in 5th place in the table and have 24 points while Univ de Chile sit in 11th with 17 points after 15 matches.

Cobresal started the match well, when Cecilio Waterman found the net at the 14 minute mark to take them into the break 1-0 up. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Cobresal included Ivan Contreras, Oscar Salinas, Mauro Gonzalez, Pablo Cardenas and Luis Vasquez for Cristopher Mesias, Benjamin Osses, Nelson Sepulveda, Cecilio Waterman and Juan Gaete, repectively. Univ de Chile brought on Mauricio Morales, Marcelo Morales, Ignacio Tapia and Nahuel Lujan, to replace Felipe Gallegos, Jose Ignacio Castro Mena, Jose Maria Carrasco and Lucas Assadi.

There were bookings for Cecilio Waterman and Alejandro Camargo from Cobresal. For Univ de Chile, Ronnie Fernandez and Felipe Seymour saw yellow.
