Stoke 0-4 Watford: The Hornets romp to big road win over The Potters

Watford beated Stoke City 4-0 on Sunday at Bet365 Stadium. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Stoke were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers in their previous game. Watford, meanwhile, had secured a point against Sunderland AFC in their previous match. Stoke and Watford are 17th, (12 points) and 7th, (17 points), spots respectively, after 12 matches.

Watford started strongly in the first half, when Ismaila Sarr opened the rout in the 12th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

The Hornets continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Ken Sema, 64 minutes in. Watford looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Keinan Davis in the 78th minute to establish a 3-0. However they weren’t finished yet and Vakoun Issouf Bayo made it 4-0 on the 84 minute mark to give a final score of 4-0.

Stoke brought on Tyrese Campbell and Harry Clarke for Dwight Gayle and Dujon Sterling. Watford brought on Imran Louza, Vakoun Issouf Bayo, Joseph Hungbo and Dan Gosling, to replace Yaser Asprilla, Ismaila Sarr, Ken Sema and Keinan Davis.

There were bookings for Tarique Fosu and Liam Delap from Stoke, and Daniel Bachmann, Yaser Asprilla, Ken Sema, Francisco Sierralta and Hamza Choudhury, for Watford.

Stoke will next travel to Burnley, while Watford will face Swansea City at home.
