Sheffield Utd 3-0 Blackburn: Rovers blown away at Bramall Lane by the Blades

Sheffield U suffered an away loss to Sheffield United on Saturday at Bramall Lane. Sheffield U were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against Sunderland AFC whilst Blackburn were beaten 3-0 in the previous match against Reading. As the table looks today, Sheffield U and Blackburn currently occupy 1st and 4th spots in the table, with 10 points and 9 points respectively after 5 matches.

The Blades didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Oliver Norwood opened the rout at the 31 minute mark, ending the first half 1-0.

Sheffield U continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Iliman Ndiaye at the 72 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a second effort from Iliman Ndiaye, at 79 minutes to make it 3-0.

Substitutions for Sheffield U included Iliman Ndiaye, Rhian Brewster and Thomas Doyle for Reda Khadra, Oliver McBurnie and Sander Berge, repectively. Blackburn brought on Tyrhys Dolan and Tyler Morton, to replace Sammie Szmodics and Ashley Phillips.

There were bookings for Max Lowe, Anel Ahmedhodzic and Iliman Ndiaye from Sheffield U. For Blackburn, Sam Gallagher and Ben Brereton saw yellow.

Sheffield U will next travel to Luton Town, while Blackburn will face Stoke City at home.
