Coventry 2-2 Rotherham: The Millers battle to a point on the road

On Tuesday, Coventry and Rotherham played out a 2-2 draw at Coventry Building Society Arena. Coventry were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Stoke City away and Sheffield United at home, by 2-0 and 1-0 respectively. Rotherham were beaten 4-2 in their previous match against Hull City. Coventry and Rotherham currently occupy 22nd and 11th spots in the league, with 17 points and 22 points respectively after 2 matches.

The Millers started strongly in the first half, when Cohen Bramall found the net just before half-time to see out the first half 1-0.

The Sky Blues took the lead in the second half, when Gustavo Hamer found the net, 76 minutes in. However, each side looked hungry to win and Rotherham then found the back of the net, 79 minutes in thanks to Conor Washington, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as Viktor Gyokeres equalised for Coventry just before the final whistle. The match ended 2-2.

Substitutions for Coventry included Kasey Palmer, Josh Eccles, Callum O`Hare, Jonathan Panzo and Todd Kane for Martyn Waghorn, Fankaty Dabo, Ben Sheaf, Kyle McFadzean and Jake Bidwell, respectively. Rotherham brought on Jamie Lindsay, Brooke Norton-Cuffy, Richard Wood, Jamie McCart and Tom Eaves, to replace Hakeem Odofin, Cohen Bramall, Grant Hall, Lee Peltier and Georgie Kelly.

There were bookings for Kyle McFadzean and Viktor Gyokeres from Coventry, and Grant Hall, Hakeem Odofin and Brooke Norton-Cuffy, for Rotherham.

Coventry will next play Blackpool at home, with Rotherham facing Cardiff City away.
