Blackburn Rovers eased past Rotherham United in a 3-0 victory on Saturday at Ewood Park. Blackburn were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 1-0 to Cardiff City. Rotherham had to settle for a draw 1-1 against Millwall. Blackburn and Rotherham currently occupy 7th and 16th spots in the table, with 21 points and 15 points respectively after 14 matches.

Rovers started strongly in the first half, when Ben Brereton opened the rout, at 21 minutes. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Blackburn once more applied the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Ben Brereton found the net once more on the 63 minute mark. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Sammie Szmodics in the 75th minute to make it 3-0.

Substitutions for Blackburn included Tyrhys Dolan, George Hirst, Clinton Mola, Bradley Dack and Adam Wharton for Ben Brereton, Sam Gallagher, Harry Pickering, Sammie Szmodics and Tyler Morton, respectively. Rotherham brought on Cameron Humphreys, Conor Washington, Shane Ferguson and Jamie Lindsay, to replace Brooke Norton-Cuffy, Tom Eaves, Lee Peltier and Oliver Rathbone.

The referee booked two players from Rotherham, Grant Hall and Daniel Barlaser.
