Salzburg 1-0 Zagreb: Visitors leave Red Bull Arena with nothing

FC Salzburg eased past Dinamo Zagreb in a 1-0 victory on Wednesday at Red Bull Arena. Salzburg were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Chelsea in their previous game whilst Zagreb had lost their previous match against AC Milan. Salzburg are now in 1st place on the table and have 5 points while Zagreb sit in 3rd with 3 points after 3 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Salzburg piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Noah Okafor, 71 minutes in, seing the match finish 1-0.

Substitutions for Salzburg included Chukwubuike Adamu, Maximilian Wober and Lucas Gourna-Douath for Noah Okafor, Andreas Ulmer and Luka Sucic, respectively. Zagreb brought on Josip Drmic, Petar Bockaj, Dario Spikic and Martin Baturina, to replace Kevin Theophile-Catherine, Sadegh Moharrami, Mislav Orsic and Luka Ivanusec.

The referee booked Bruno Petkovic, Sadegh Moharrami and Arijan Ademi for Zagreb.

Salzburg will play their next fixture away against Dinamo Zagreb, while Zagreb will face FC Salzburg at home.
