Manchester City move to next phase of the Champions League after tie against Atletico Madrid by 0-0

Atleti and Man City ended their confrontation in the with a 0-0 draw this Wednesday at Wanda Metropolitano. When the two sides met previously at the Etihad Stadium, the visitors secured a 1-0 victory. With this result, we will continue to see Man City for at least one more round in the Champions League.

For Atleti, Yannick Carrasco, Rodrigo De Paul, Angel Correa, Luis Suarez and Matheus Cunha, came on for Antoine Griezmann, Koke, Renan Lodi, Thomas Lemar and Joao Felix. Man City brought on Raheem Sterling, Nathan Ake and Fernandinho, to replace Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva.

The referee booked Felipe, Marcos Llorente and Stefan Savic from Atleti and Felipe (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Man City’s Rodri, Nathan Ake, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Joao Cancelo also received a yellow.

The two sides are evenly matched over two legs, but it is the away goal count that will ultimately see Cityzens progress to the next stage. They will be hoping to produce winning results when they next face sturdy opposition in the Champions League.
