Stuttgart 0 – Leipzig 2: The Reds left stunned by The Red Bulls at home

RB Leipzig defeat Stuttgart 2-0 on Saturday at the Mercedes Benz Arena. Stuttgart were looking for a victory following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Greuther Fürth in their previous game. Leipzig were coming from a 4-1 win against Mainz. After today’s result, Stuttgart are in 15th place, with 18 points from 19 matches, while Leipzig sit in 7th, with 28 points from 19.

The Red Bulls started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Andre Silva finding the net, at 11 minutes, which saw the first half end 0-1.

Leipzig continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Christopher Nkunku finding the net, 70 minutes in, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

For Stuttgart, Mateo Klimowicz, Roberto Massimo, Naouirou Ahamada and Lilian Egloff, came on for Tanguy Coulibaly, Alexis Tibidi, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Chris Fuhrich. Leipzig brought on Benjamin Henrichs, Hugo Novoa and Dani Olmo, to replace Yussuf Poulsen, Christopher Nkunku and Kevin Kampl.

There were bookings for Tanguy Coulibaly, Alexis Tibidi and Sasa Kalajdzic from Stuttgart, and Yussuf Poulsen, for Leipzig.

Stuttgart will next travel to SC Freiburg, while Leipzig will face Wolfsburg at home.
