Leipzig enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Mainz at Red Bull Arena on Saturday. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. The 05ers took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Lee Jae Sung in the 57th minute. However, Leipzig increased their lead following a Christopher Nkunku goal in the 58th minute to make it 3-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a second effort from Andre Silva after 60 minutes to make it 4-1.

For Leipzig, Christopher Nkunku, Hugo Novoa, Joscha Wosz and Lars Sidney Raebiger, came on for Yussuf Poulsen, Andre Silva, Lukas Klostermann and Dominik Szoboszlai.
