Mainz 1 – Bochum 0: Visitors get nothing as The 05ers take points

Mainz snatched all three points from Bochum in a 1-0 victory on Saturday, at the OPEL Arena. Mainz were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to RB Leipzig while Bochum had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Wolfsburg. After today’s result, Mainz and Bochum are 9th, (27 points) and 11th, (23 points), spots respectively, after 19 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Mainz who started the second half well, with an early goal from Juste in the 48th minute. The final result, Mainz 1, Bochum 0.

For Mainz, Kevin Stoger, Paul Nebel, Anderson Lucoqui and Jean-Paul Boetius, came on for Lee Jae Sung, Jonathan Michael Burkardt, Aaron Martin and Karim Onisiwo. Bochum brought on Danny Blum, Elvis Rexhbecaj, Jurgen Locadia and Herbert Bockhorn, to replace Milos Pantovic, Takuma Asano, Eduard Lowen and Christopher Antwi-Adjej.

There were bookings for Anton Stach, Kevin Stoger and Paul Nebel from Mainz. For Bochum, Armel Bella-Kotchap, Cristian Gamboa and Elvis Rexhbecaj saw yellow.

Mainz will next travel to Greuther Fürth, while Bochum will face FC Köln at home.
